Radiesse Description & Benefits

Radiesse is a safe FDA-approved injectable dermal filler that gives you both immediate and long-lasting results. Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite and is biodegradable, so it is safely absorbed by your body over time, and because it is not animal based, there is no allergy testing required prior to treatment. This filler stimulates the body to produce new collagen and restores a healthy, natural look. Radiesse will last approximately one year or longer and is very effective for use for nasolabial creases, marionette lines, cheek augmentation, frown lines, diminish blemishes, non-surgical rhinoplasty, jawline and chin augmentation.

Radiesse Procedure Steps

The Radiesse treatment usually lasts between 20-45 minutes. The points of injection are scored by the doctor with a marking pencil. Your doctor may select numerous injection points for each location to be treated. Using a very fine needle, the filler is injected just below the skin to fill out the depression. You may experience some minimal discomfort from the needle injection. Depending on the area treated, massaging may be used to smooth out the filler before it firms up. Injectable Fillers work by restoring lost volume which occurs primarily because of aging or weight loss.

Radiesse Recovery

Immediately after the injections, you may experience some swelling and bruising which typically subsides within 48 hours. The treated area may appear red for the first 24 hours and may last up to a week. It is safe to cover the treated areas with make-up if you wish. Avoid strenuous exercise, sun and drinking alcohol during this time. You may need to return to the doctor’s office in two to three weeks so that the results can be checked and topped up with more fillers if necessary. You can resume your normal activities immediately; however, you are advised to stay out of the sun. Ensure you use a total sun block if your skin must be unavoidably exposed to the sun. Sudden, severe pain or any symptoms that are progressive or seem unusual should be reported to the doctor immediately.
