Scar Revision complication 4 years post Tummy Tuck
In 2004 I had a full Tummy Tuck. 11/2008 I had a scar revision to bilateral ears and flaps with liposuction. The scar on one side looks good however on the other side it looks like vagina lips! it opened and healed that way...should my PS revise this as part of the revision? also i have no brusing or soreness and still have love handles. I feel like he didnt do liposuction at all! And I still have reminiscent of the FLAPS! I am 5'1" and weigh 115lbs and 34. I work out 3-4 times a week. I dont understand what to do? I am so unhappy and self concious I haven't slept in 3 days because of this...HELP!!!

The bilateral Ears (Sometimes called Dog Ears) is a very common problem. In order to avoid it, I usually evaluate if BEFORE a tummy tuck we have excess skin n the flanks of a patient. If this is so, no liposuction will take care of the problem, you simply HAVE TO REMOVE THE SKIN. This can be done either at the time of a Tummy Tuck (Prefered) or in a sepparate "Flankoplasty" Surgery. The skin in the flanks will remain (and appear even worse if liposuction is performed). The only way to improve on excess skin is to remove it. Therefore a Flankoplasty may be indicated where we remove the excess skin. Feel free to send me photos for your evaluation or write me if you have additional quesions. The flancoplasty can usually cost as low as $3,200 Dollars.
