Is a mini lift right for me?
I would appreciate some advice - I am 41 yrs old and have a small heart shaped elfin face with a little fat pad under my chin and early jowls . A mini facelift has been suggested and I am planing to have this done in Brussels but I am concerned as to whether it is the correct proceedure for me or not
If any professional person would be kind enough to have a look at some photos of me ( which I will send by email ) I would be most grateful for their comments and advice
In my opinion, mini anything usually gets you a mini result. You should research radiofrequency (RF) facial contouring using the Accent device. This could give you enough improvement until you need a real facelift which probably won't be for several years....
The proelem with mini-lifts is they tend to give mini-results. In some well known branded mini-lifts (LSL), there is a high rate of dissatisfaction on message boards. Patients complain of excessive scarring and inadequate results. With many mini-lifts, the same incisions are made as for a full facelift, but only minimal undermining is done. Experienced facelift surgeons simply do not stop at this point because they know their patients will not be happy with partially corrected jawlines, incisions closed under great tension (which are therefore prone to stretching). The steps of deep restructuring, volume enhancement and low tension skillful closures yield better, less perceptible scarring. Patients undergoing mini-lifts should not expect full facelift results.
