True cellulite is caused either by looseness of the skin or by irregularities in the very superficial skin. There is in my opinion no treatment yet that cures cellulite without causing great risk of actually causing irregularities which can be untreatable.
Cellulite is actually normal. Many of the skinny supermodels even have it, just it is removed with an airbrush. Patients should do their best with diet and exercise, and not stress about having cellulite. If you are a woman over the age of 18, chances are you have cellulite.
Liposuction can often make the appearance of cellulite better (not gone) because deep pockets of fat accessible to liposuction techniques translate to irregularities on the skin surface.

Liposuction by its name is the removal of fat by suctioning it out. Cellulite is a deformity of the dermis therefore most liposuction techniques do not help its treatment. In some cases the laser lipolysis, Smart Lipo, improves the cellulite very little (20 to 30%). From MIAMI
