Blepharoplasty uneven swelling
1 week post upper eyelid surgery. Right side is more swollen due to surgeon injecting extra local anaesthesia when suturing the right eye because 1.5 hrs had elapsed since initial injection and I could feel the sutures a little. So the right eye got 3 cc of 2pct, 1/100000 epi plus wydase and then 2 cc more 1.5 hrs later.
Swelling has gone down somewhat after 1 st day but still noticeably more swollen than the left eye. I'm so worried that I will have permanent swelling or one eyelid will be bigger. Please let me know if reinjecting local is fairly common procedure or not. Thanks in advance for your expert advice.

uneven swelling after eyelid surgery  July 29, 2011 2:41 PM

Asymmetric swelling is the norm after eyelid surgery. Followup with your surgeon if any concerns if it worsens.
