eyebrow asymmetry
My eyebrows are asymmetrical. To me, it's very obvious and bothersome, especially when I see pictures of myself. My eyebrows are relatively low but I don't like the idea of going into my hairline. I really just want the one brow lifted permanently. I know there are procedures going through the lid as well as direct but what is the best method, for permanently correcting moderate asymmetry-least risk of other cosmetic complications like hair loss, scarring, etc?

eyebrow asymmetry  March 3, 2012 8:11 PM

Eyebrow asymmetry can be due to various factors. It can be due underlying congenital facial asymmetry, with one side of the face being smaller than the other. It can be due to eyelid asymmetry and droopiness and the brow on the more droopy eyelid side is higher in order to compensate for the droopy eyelid. Depending on the underlying cause, the treatment for brow asymmetry varies. The solution can be surgical or nonsurgical (botulinum toxin). See an oculoplastic surgeon.

If you want an intelligent answer, you should post a photo of your face (it doesn't have to be the whole face)
Good luck from NYC

eyebrow asymetry  March 5, 2012 2:09 PM

Pictures would be helpful, but if you had this asymmetry all your life then its likely due to underlying skull (bony) asymmetry which is quite common. Correcting it is possible (several procedures are all good) but unlikely to be PERMANENT ! Eventually the brow will reestablish itself in its bony plateau.

Treatment for eyebrow asymmetry  April 12, 2012 6:51 PM

There are a few different options to treat eyebrow asymmetry. The first option would be surgery. However, there are some great non-surgical options available. Ulthera with Botox and fillers can also be used to treat eyebrow asymmetry.
