How long does it realistically take for swelling after an otoplasty to go away?

I had an otoplasty done last Saturday so it's been a week now. My ears stuck out a lot and they needed to be pinned. The minute the large dressing was removed, I couldn't help but notice that my left ear was very sore and looking weird. It has a weird shape as if I have a hearing aid in. The right one on the other hand is looking perfect.

Am I being very stressy and jumping into conclusion even though I am only 8 days post operation? The thing is I think my left ear is still as swollen when I saw it when the large dressing was removed.

Did a patient of yours experience such a thing before? Have the swelling and the weird shape faded? Is it normal to have a very swollen and weird looking ear after otoplasty?
