crooked smile
face liftFacelift

hey question...I just recently had surgery. I did lower blepharoplasty, lipo under the chin and mini facelift(just lower portion of face). So after I got the stitches out, I am noticing that my smile is crooked , one side goes down and one is higher up. Had my surgery 12 days ago. For those of you saying ur smile was crooked, has it resolved??? also if it did, how long did it take to resolve and did u do anything to speed up the process? I cannot go out like this and I am really worried. My surgeon says not to worry but how can I not? Everthing else looks great its just this crooked smile that I never had before...Is there any possible way this could be permanent? my surgeon assured me he did not touch a nerve but I cannot think of any reason why my smile would be crooked? please advise as I am so nervous about this. thx .

Having a somewhat off balance smile 12 days after rhytidectomy is not ideal- but is a common occurrence. Usually it is due to swelling or bruising of the facial nerve or a muscle of (more)

Hi! thank u for answering about the crooked smile...so this is something that is totally common? I am just nervous because I seem to be second guessing my surgeon. It is still crooked and now it is 2 weeks post op...is there any reason why this would actually stay permanent, or better yet have u seen it stay permanent?
also, I am not sure why, bit my cheeks are EXTREMELY swollen...like there are 2 balls in them. I got a mini facelift and lipo under the chin so I am not sure why my cheeks would be MORE puffy as opposed to LESS puffy? most places I am reading say that most swelling is gone by 2 weeks and that people usually can return to work? That is def. not the case with me...do u think my surgeon may have messed me up ? please adcise :(
