I am happy to help out and give you my opinion on the best and most respected labial surgeons in your area. First and foremost ask if the surgeon does labial/vaginal surgery full time.
I am happy to help out and give you my opinion on the best and most respected labial surgeons in your area. First and foremost ask if the surgeon does labial/vaginal surgery full time. You would rather have a surgeon who specialized in a limited area, such as the labia and vagina, than a generalist who also specializes in tummies, breasts, noses, etc. It just makes sense. Second, you should seriously analyze the claims made and promises offered. If it sounds too good to be true then it may not be true. Minimal surgery may lead to minimal results. Just about any vaginal and labial surgery takes six weeks to heal and anecdotal reports of more rapid healing may not be accurate. The genital region is chock full of nerve endings. Painless surgery is certainly possible with general anesthesia or spinals or epidurals. Even local anesthesia gives you pain when injected and is not truly painless until the injection is done. A pain free recovery is not a claim that can be substantiated unless one has a nerve or sensory disorder or has a long term indwelling pain pump for a month. After doing these surgeries for twenty years I have yet to see an incisionless or pain-free technique. I have not seen a single patient claim to have comfortable intercourse after only a week or two of recovery time. Wound edges take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to heal even with all the healing creams, oils, massage, and nutritional supplements. Monitor the claims made.
Lastly, though credentials checks are a given and you will pick a "Board Certified" surgeon, understand that those do not necessarily mean an expertise in the surgery you are looking to have. You can tell more about the surgeon's skill and precision by looking at his or her Extended set of photos. Does your surgeon have any photos posted? Does he have only a couple? Does he have a variety of techniques shown? Are his photos showing consistency in looks? Be critical since it is your body, your dollar.
For New Yorkers, Dr. Rho and Dr. Blatt fit the bill. Dr. Ed Jacobson in Connecticut is also an excellent choice. Drive down a few states and the king of labial surgery is Dr. Bernard Stern in Florida. Go to the South and the established pros are Dr. John Miklos and Dr. Rob Moore and Dr. Gregory Zengo.
Good luck to you. Hope this helps.
