Why sagging neck after face/necklift?
lower face liftFacelift

I am 8 weeks post op. from a neck and lower facelift. The dr. performed a platysmaplasty (corset). I am still numb under the chin and slight swelling. I am very discouraged to find that the banding under my neck, although inproved, is still there. My neck is tight and the scaring is healing very well. I will be seeing my PS in a week or so, but when I discussed this issue with him, he said that it takes up to several months for the tightening to occur. I certainly want to believe that, but when I look at before and after pictures of women 8 weeks post op with the same procedure and same age, they look signifcantly better than me. I am 56 years old, in good health, non-smoker and always maintained a healthy weight. Am I being over anxious, is this normal for some, will tightening continue?
