10 years ago I had a glycolic acid peel that bleached the top half of my nose. What do you think of tattoo to even out my skin tone?

My skin is naturally tan in colour. Immediately after the treatment, my face was an unrecognizable white. When the esthetician saw me begin to panic, she suggested I go out into the sun, claiming that by the time I get home, my skin would return to normal. Since then I've regained my usual pigment with some lighter streaks and patches which become more visible in the summer, and some freckling. She claimed that this substance could help with scars and so she put extra on my nose. Well the top half of my nose is very noticeably lighter than the rest of my face. I can live with the mottled looking skin and freckles but the upper half of my nose looks ridiculous! If not tattoo, is there a way to naturally regenerate melanin? What do you think of tattoo for this problem and what are the downfalls?
