The way these rollers work, they do not penetrate deep enough into the skin to cause any damage. There are some rollers that are for professionals only like the 2.0mm-3.0mm Depth rollers.
The way these rollers work, they do not penetrate deep enough into the skin to cause any damage. There are some rollers that are for professionals only like the 2.0mm-3.0mm Depth rollers. Those can penetrate too deep past the epidermal area and can cause scaring or infection. So only professionals with experience should use those depths.
If you wanted to try out a roller I wouldn't recommend going above a 1.0mm on your first try. Try a 0.5mm which is the most commonly used depth.
The small channels that the roller makes are too small to cause infection but just large enough to maximize absorption of topical products and promote collagen production in the skin. It also helps with acne scaring as well because it promotes regrowth of the skin.
