How can I tell if my breast necrosis is healing?

I had breast reduction 11/21/11 I have developed necrosis in my left breast. My Ps has debrided it 2x and am scheduled for my 3rd debridement tomorrow. I pack it w/wet saline gauze 2x day I have noticed brigh red tissue appearing is this a good sign? My wound is about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep in some places. I am worried about the debridement because I do have alot of feeling in that tissue now Is that a sign of live tissue?

Thank you so much for posting an answer so quickly. I went to my PS today. He only had to debride a small amount of dead tissue. He was pleased there was no infection. He said I was now in the proliveative stage of healing. I was very happy to hear that new tissue was present, and that I should not have to go thru any more debridement. I am just hoping now that I will see speedy healing and remain healthy.
