Cut myself on underside of penis and left atrophic scar - how to remove?

I had an innocuous papule on the underside of my penis that I wanted removed, so I decided to use a pair of finger nail clippers to cut it off myself. I have no idea what I was thinking and naturally this left a small atrophic scar. It's not very big, but close to the head of my penis, near the center. I thought I could remove the scar myself as it's not very big - think length of a small finger nail clipper - by doing a TCA peel or even a little gentle manual dermasanding with a medical grade high grit sandpaper. I'm not so sure this is a good idea and wanted to ask for advice. What options do I have? Can I get laser treatment for this? Is there additional risk of scarring if I do? I'm so depressed and high strung over this. I can't sleep and I'm driving myself crazy.

I went to a local dermatologist who didn't seemed concerned w/it. He said it wasn't noticeable, but I can't say I agree. At this point, it's a strictly a cosmetic issue, one that I desperately need help in addressing. If anyone can point me to a doctor that handles atrophic scars on the penis, I would be really appreciative.
