I had a rib graft rhino. Why do Doctors do additional procedures while the pt is under the nife?
I only told my Dr to rise my dorsum, but he did a cephalic trim, caudal trim, and my nose narrow. Then I had to go back, because my nose felt so firm, and I could not smile without effort. He told me that he can take some of the scarring. He went thru my upper mouth, and something in the anterior nasal spine. After the swelling went down, my nose feels loose, or shifts when I move my head left to right. I also want to rib graft to be remived. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS?

One of the negatives of rib cartilage is that it can feel unnaturally rigid. Despite this, sometimes rib cartilage is the best material because it can provide a lot of support and height. If you have a good relationship with your surgeon, talk to him regarding your concerns. If not, you might seek consultation with a revision rhinoplasty surgeon to review your options.
