I had a reaction to Restylane injected two years ago and have disfiguring lumps and swelling. Can it be removed?

Sterling Rose, I'm sorry you had a bad reaction as well. Are they hardened lumps? For most people the filler dissolves. How long have you had yours? Do let me know if the doctor in Houston is able to help.

I have had a horrible reaction to resty and it made a mess of my face. I have been to 3 consults who all have the same response. Said they've never seen this reaction. I am going to Soparkar next week in Houston who is supposedly an expert with these fillers to see what he can do. will let you know if he comes up with a good suggestion. The enzyme had made it worse. I hope you find the answer. This is very stressful and these doctors don't seem to have a clue. One said to wait 6 months-if skin doesn't spring back, I may need a 2nd facelift. I should have left my face alone

Yes, I saw the physician who administered the Restylane and went to another plastic surgeon for a second opinion. The second doctor said he hand't seen a similar situation and would get more information from a conference. Unfortunately, he didn't attend and didn't recontact. He took pictures of before and what I looked like now. Another surgeon said "facelift," but I'm in my 30s and there is pressure in my face caused by the lumps - facelift wouldn't help that. A dermatologist said that he would administer Restylane to my rear and then remove it with Vitrase to estimate absorption, but Vitrase has been tried a number of times.
Based on these answers, I believe I need someone specialized who has done this before, based on the above three surgeons' opinions in my area. Is there anyone who has experience successfully removed Restylane granulomas (large and small) without significantly damaging facial nerves?
