It should be a doctor, and it should be someone who comes highly recommended. If you go to the allergan website, it will tell you who the biggest users of botox are in your area. These are probably going to be the most experienced and best injectors. Injection is a separate skill from surgery. I correct just as many injection mistakes by board certified surgeons as I do by nurses. I agree, however, that a consultation about surgery may not be a bad idea and in that case you should make sure that you speak with a board certified surgeon.
As far as you having spent all that money for little effect, you should keep on your doctor. She needs to be responsible for her results. Aesthetic practitioners need to do all we can to make sure that people who entrust us with their faces get excellent results.
Regarding the comment below, there really are many good doctors who know what they are doing and really want to help people. She should get another opinion (since I am in LA, I would be happy to see her at no charge). Enzyme actually works very well, but only for certain fillers (hyaluronic acid). Other fillers can be reduced with cortisone injections. I hope all this helps.

I have now seen an expert and been advised that the filler and enzyme have caused major sagging and fat loss in my face and I will need a revision to my facelift. This Dr apologized to me-he felt so bad-he said he cannot believe what this other doctor did to my face. Now I need to come up with 12,000 to fix this mess. DO NOT USE THE ENZYME-especially if you have aging skin. It will not bounce back. Start saving your money. A facelift is the only thing that will help. You can look for my posts and see the pics. I have gone to 3 top docs and they all told me the same thing. I will make it my business to tell everyone I know NOT to do fillers. Again-let me fill up the face of some doc and see how they do.

I had the same problem you did. I had filler and now I have jowls where I didn't have them before. My previous facelift was 2008 and I looked great. Just wanted a little volume. ITS AWFUL and I went to a board cert PS who tried to fix with enzyme-now its worse. These doctors don't know what they're doing and only care about the money. I INSISTED mine return my money and he ultimately did. Ask for your money back and pray it gets better. I look old and saggy and cry a lot. Some of these doctors should be filled up with this stuff and see how it looks and feels. Don't do the enzyme-it makes it worse.
