How do I get rid of hyperpigmentatino and skin tags. African American female with acanthosis nigricans.

I have been told there is no cure for this but weight loss. I have not been successful with the weight loss but I am still trying. In the meantime, I am plagued with people staring at me. I have 200+ little skin tags all over my neck. I have counted them. Some are as large as an eraser. They are also in my armpits and inner thighs. My family has skin tags, but I have the velvety skin and hyperpigmentation under my arms as well. All hallmarks of acanthosis nigricans. One dermatologist offered to treat me for 100 dollars per skin tag. I wash my skin very thoroughly with bathing. I have even tried remedies like Lava Soap to clean these areas for the hyperpigmentation thinking I had grease build up. Nothing changes. I have surgical menopausal. I had a total hysterectomy and all ovaries removed. I am on no hormone treatment. I don't have diabetes. Been checked for that.
