Thank you for you kind comments and concern.
I had my surgery 2 months ago, the swelling, bruising all healed very quickly, but emotionally I have my good days and bad days. I honestly thought that I had done my homework/research choosing a specialist. I asked lots of questions, had all the tests prior surgery to check that I was in good health, and took my time before signing all
the legal documents/contracts.

My PS says that I will more than likely heal in a few months time. He also said that I am lucky as there are other people who are worse off than I am. LOL - Not much that I can do, just have to deal with the discomfort, my left eye does not blink or close properly, wells up with tears and feels irritated. I have to put eye drops in often. (Oh, I did not mention that I also had an upper and lower blepharoplasty.) On my right side above my eyebrow I have absolutely no muscle movement. My left cheek droops and my smile is lopsided. On the positive side! The PS has sent me for physiotherapy. He put a suture in my left eye to help with the discomfort, it has helped somewhat but is still uncomfortable. He gave me Botox shots in parts of the forehead, to create a more natural relaxed appearance. He also gave me a few Teosyal shots, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and lips. So at the moment I have a bit of bruising around the mouth and swollen lips, but starting to look a wee bit more symmetrical, except when I smile. I am also taking vitamin B, magnesium, and omega 3 fish oil to help with the healing.
Thank goodness for makemeheal site and realself, as reading these sites have helped me get through my worst days. I thought that I was a strong person before my op, but I have broken down many times.
I had done extensive research before my surgery and my PS assured me that I would not have asymmetry after my op, as I had told him that I had read some horror stories online. He told me that I should not believe everything that I read online and that I can trust him.
Well unfortunately during my procedure I had a haematoma and the PS had to cauterise the nerve branch and this happened a second time apparently. So here I am! Just have to wait and see..,
Hopefully someone else will read my story and it will help them get through their dark days and they will know that they are not alone. (Really sorry, I detest the negativity of the above, but really trying to be positive.)
Cynthia, you are really lucky, you doctor did a fabulous job and you look stunning.

I am so sorry to hear of your unforntunate results. I am one month out from my surgery & am having wonderful results. Its a day by day process. I had a fantastic PS I picked & researched him because he does Quality over Quanity..Is your nerve damage permanent or will it heal in time? Making the decision to get a facelift is hard enough & scary let alone receiving unwanted results afterwards. You will be in my thoughts & pls keep in touch. Praying things will get better for you!

Cynthia, you are indeed very lucky to have such a good outcome, wonderful results and you look fantastic. I would have been ecstatic if I had had your results. Unfortunately I have nerve damage after my elective mini face lift procedure. I have to live with the consequences, and at the moment it is very difficult facing and dealing with people in my everyday situations. You are very lucky. So be happy!
