I smoked 4 cigarettes last night and eyelid surgery is in 2 days. I'm not going to smoke anymore! I am healthy but should I cancel/What should I do?

I am scheduled to have upper and lower eyelid surgery on Wednesday and I stopped smoking 2 weeks ago. However, last night I had 4 cigarettes. Should I be concerned?

For eyelid surgery, this should not be a problem. A face lift, big problem. I would notify the surgeon, in the AM, tell the anesthesia doctor, and quit smoking.

i too was a smoker and I didn't think I could ever quit smoking. But my Dr. said I had to quit 6 weeks before my surgery. I started taking Chantix and i was still smoking (only one or 2 a day the week before. My surgery was Jan. 6 2009, my last cigarette was Dec. 29. 2008. It made no difference in my surgery that I know of, and i Had a full face lift, neck lift, upper blep. and laser surgery for the lines around my mouth and cheeks. Hope that helped. Becky
