Can one side of the chin bone connect heal sooner than the other after Genioplasty?

I am at about 5 weeks after having 2mm forward and 5mm vertical genioplasty advancement. When I am not smiling my chin looks perfectly even, but when I do smile my left side seems to not go in (indent) like the other side it seems more puffy or swollen on that side which gives it an uneven appearance only when I smile. It is also on this side I can feel the little notch underneath where as the other normal side I cannot. It is also more tight along my gums on this side. All leading to an uneven appearence only when I smile. my question is should I be concerned at this point in recovery? Also is it normal for one side to heal/ join at the bone sooner than the other? I have asked my surgeon about this and he didn't take x-rays but says it should even out at the 3 month mark. He didn't show concern about my worries. I am very worried it will stay uneven when I smile and feel very conscious when I do. I have been told it seems as it looks like something is pulling/tight on one side when I smile. Is the notch underneath because the bone has not fully connected yet on that side? Any insight on this matter and uneveness just when smiling after genioplasty will be extremely appreciated. Thank you
