Uneven nostrils

I had an open rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago, and my nostrils look really uneven since day 1. My doctor said I have to wait until the swelling is all gone, but I honestly won't be able to wait for 6 months or more to be able to do something about it. I'm already starting to feel depressed, can't leave the house.
I wish to know what could have happened, and what I can do to help.
I think it's not due to the swelling, because it's been this way since day 1 post op. I believe it was caused by asymmetric stitching of the lower cartilage. If so, will I have to go under the knife again to fix it? How long would I have to wait? Please help, I am desperate. Thank you!
