My face is much bigger after Fractional co2 laser

I had fractional co2 laser done 2 1/2 months ago. I loved the results initially but not my face is much bigger with all the collagen. I had a lovely oval face before, now I have a big round face. (I am the same weight). Some questions, please please. 1. When does collagen production peak after an aggressive co2 laser 2. Can this treatment make you dermis bigger than it should be (say bigger now than when I was 18 ) or does it plateau at a max thickness
