Undereye Restylane with Dr. Goldberg, July 17, 2006, 12:38 pm
Reviewer: thegoodwitch

Dr. Goldberg is an oculoplastic surgeon at UCLA and is extremely attentive, knowledgeable and skilled. He performed my undereye Resty procedure with very little pain, and after four months I am still loving the results. He has a great aesthetic eye and a gentle hand, and is probably one of the foremost eye experts in the world. He is also a very nice person.

Dr. Goldberg's office does not feel like a spa; it feels like a medical office. There are no pictures of Bottecelli's Venus on the wall, or faux-Roman fountains spurting water in the lobby. His assistants will not offer you a cool beverage, and they are not too much for getting-to-know-you chitchat. If you are like me, you will appreciate that his efforts go into quality medicine versus office decor, but those who prefer a more soothing environment may feel that something is missing.

He and his assistants are very accessible and friendly, always willing to answer any questions you have over the phone or in person. My only mild criticism of his practice is that I think they could use a bit more attention to pre- and post-procedure instructions and care. I had a sizeable bruise under one eye from the Resty injections, but received no instructions about how to care for it - whether to ice, elevate, apply compresses, etc. I also did not receive instructions about avoiding aspirin, vit-E, etc. before the procedure - although luckily I tuned in to MakeMeHeal for that info! His practice is very nuts-and-bolts in that sense - his focus is on doing what he does well and not on holding your hand. Just be prepared to do your own research and don't expect anyone to remind you to bring an icepack to your appointment for the drive home, and you will likely be very pleased by the results you receive at the hands of this very fine doctor, just as I was.
