I got calf implants from this incompetent doctor and I lost my life. I was hospitalized for one year because DR Brink of Disaster put the calf implants in too large and I developed compartment syndrome. My muscles started decaying and my kidneys shut down bc I was urinating my muscles as they decayed. Within one day I almost lost both legs. LUCKY ME did not. Instead I lost 90% of both muscles on both legs and now I must wear splints to walk for life. I cannot run, bike, wear shorts, go to the beach or have a normal relationship with any woman thanks to the incompetence of this dickhead. I cannot believe he is still practicing. He is a disgrace and I only wish he lived one day of my life to see how he messed up my life so much.

Best Ever !!, October 6, 2006, 8:56 am

I have read the review of Dr Robert Brink submitted on July 15, 2006 by a subscriber named pingapid. It was very negative to the point of being ludicrous. I mailed this person with my opinion and never received any reply.I am posting here in hopes of leveling the playing field of Dr Brink ‘s review and correcting an obvious disservice to one of the country's top plastic surgeons.
I am 59, live in the SF Bay Area, and recently retired. I once had attractive youthful good looks but time and long hours of work had taken their toll.I did exhaustive research, both thru the Web and with several fee based services, to find the best Plastic Surgeon available at any cost to help restore and rejeuvenate my appearance. My choices were narrowed down to Doctors .....Ristow, Martens, Romano, and Brink.
I chose Dr Robert Brink who is a graduate of Harvard, the University of Michigan Medical School and trained at UC San Francisco. Dr. Brink has been in private practice for over 25 years. Today, he is recognized as one of the premier plastic surgeons in the nation. He has incredible artistic sense and earned a listing in Castle-Connally’s Nationwide List of Top Doctors.
I found Dr Brink above all to be a no-nonsense professional who will tell you frankly what he can and cannot expect to achieve. Believe me when I tell you that he achieves a lot more than he ever promises!
I have to tell you that I could not be happier with these results.... On May 30. 2006 I had Open Rhino, and Lipo of my chest and neck areas.
On August 9, 2006, he performed a coronal browlift w/ incision at hairline, a full SMAS facelift, Lower Bleph, and Fat grafts below eyes.
On September 26, 2006 he finished fine tuning my look with Upper Bleph, and some veinous ligation around the orbital areas. The ligation was necessary after the lower fat bags had been removed since the surface veins that I had since youth had become more visibly prominent once the fat was removed from around my eyes.
I am now 10 days removed from the the final procedure....I look and feel great and could not be more satisfied. The results are amazing and my wife is looking forward to next summer when she can have her work done...She's a few years younger and won't need as much work as I did!
Dr Brink has recently transferred his long established practice to Dr Joel Beck who is 23 years younger and also an excellent surgeon. It is called " Bay Area Aesthetic Surgery ". They are now working as a team until Dr Brink finally decides to retire, which I personally hope is never. The facility is beautiful and conveniently located off Hwy 92 in San Mateo Ca.The staff is wonderful. Angie, who still looks 30, has been the office coordinator with Dr Brink for over 20 years.
I could have used any Doctor that I wanted and now would never dream of using anyone else in the world.....
I now look in my mid forties and plan to turn 60 next month......Thanks Again Dr Brink!

Years ago, Dr. Brink gave me (1) a rhinoplasty and (2) fat injections. He apparently cut out too much cartilage from the right side of my nose, and now there's a subtle irregularity/shadow there that requires a revision rhinoplasty operation.

Also, while I will admit that the overall result is not hideous, it isn't natural-looking, either. It is obvious to anyone who's familiar with facial plastic surgery that that I've had a nose job.

In addition to looking fake, this nose is completely the wrong size and shape for my face. Dr. Brink made my nose too small for my large-boned and ethnic face. I.e., he gave me a WASP-y nose, and I have a Mediterranean/Hispanic face.

I will say that I prefer this nose to the one I had. That said, it's not a result that any experienced, aesthetically adept plastic surgeon would ever deliberately produce.

Not only that, I contracted a now-chronic infection that flared up immediately after the rhinoplasty -- horrible, grotesque, voluminous nasal discharge. Ever since then, I periodically get a weird little lesion, which has been tested and is a rare form of staph, that periodically appears as a small lesion on an outer nostril.

He also gave me horrific bruising from a fat injection under one of my eyes. It lasted three weeks, was vivid black and purple, and covered my entire mid-face under my right eye.

I would never recommend Dr. Brink to anyone, for anything.
