Beware!!, May 23, 2012, 12:33 pm
Spindel performed by breast augmentation. I followed up with him because I felt my left implant move upwards, there was swelling and severe pain. I started to have numbness down my left arm. Spindel stated that ulnar nerve damage could be in no way related to my implant. He also stated that, my left implant was exactly the same, but my right one had dropped, I told him this was not so, but he continued to insist that is what happened. He stated the only thing he could do was "tack the right one up" to look like the left one. I again stated there was nothing wrong with the right implant, the left one needed correction. He stated he would follow up with it. A couple of months went by, the appearance of the implant did not change, but it did become very firm. I went back to Spindel, he said I had a Stage 2 contracture in my left implant. He stated it would be very hard to repair this, and that I may end up with drains afterwards. He also stated, that repairing this would have been very easy if I would have "caught it" earlier. I did in fact, "catch it" earlier, but he refused to treat it at that point. He stated my surgery would cost over 3000.00 dollars, and if he damaged the implant, I would also have to pay for that. He also stated it would be an extensive surgery that would require surgery in the OR and possible drain placement. But if surgery would have been done sooner, it would have been a simple incision under the implant that he could have done in the office. In other words: If he would have listened to my complaints, realized the problem was in fact with the left implant, and treated it...it could have been done months ago. Avoid this doctor!!
