Prayers do get answered if you believe they can!, January 7, 2007, 7:18 am
After needing a breast reduction for over 20 years, my dream became a reality on December 5, 2006. I had been approved for this surgery in the past but had struggles with my insurance company to approve necessity of this most necessary procedure. On December 5th, Dr. Hawes changed my life. After going from a 36 DDD++ to a 36 C I no longer have neck and shoulder pain. It has only been a month, however, comparing myself to other photos I have seen here on this website, my 4 week post op photos look like some of the 2 and 3 month photos and my two week after photos look like 2 month post pics. I know everyone heals differently, however when you begin with a fantastic plastic surgeon, as was my surgeon, Dr. Hawes, it makes all the difference in the world. I feel that my progress to date, as well as the unbelievable appearance, size, shape and total uniformity of my breasts, could not possibly be improved upon. Everything exceedes my greatest expectations of what a breast reduction procedure could do for my life. I am still sore, especially on the sides of my breasts up to the nipple area, however I did have over 3 1/2 pounds removed and the discomfort is expected. I just know that whatever discomfort I have to deal with now, far outweighs the aches and pains in my neck and upper back that I lived with for many, many years. Best of luck to all who will be having this surgery in the future. It really will change your life and by far be the best thing you could ever do for your wellbeing. Just research your doctor and make sure you really feel comfortable with him from the get go!
