Nightmare with Dr. harrison lee, October 16, 2017, 4:41 pm
I had my cheekbones and jawline done 2 years ago. I've seen photos of my surgeon's work and was impressed, however, I've learned before and after photos are the worst indicators for choosing your surgeon. RATHER, research his proposed methodology and see if it is a sound technique for your particular case. Initially, i was planning on going to korea for bone contouring surgery since the doctors there are more skilled and do this on a daily basis. However, since the whole Caitlyn Jenner reveal, i found Dr. Lee and thought he was capable of this type of bone work.
So here comes surgery day. I was put in the waiting room patiently waiting for Dr. Lee. He comes in rushed wearing street clothes, took my pictures, and drew on my face quickly then left. This should've been a RED flag. I was concerned and i probably should've cancelled the surgery and follow my intuition but foolishly i went through with it. I was also concerned why i was doing such an invasive surgery on my face in a small room in lee's back office instead of a hospital. However, i didn't question it cause i had so much of a blindtrust in him that all common sense went out the window. After my surgery, the nurse quickly dressed me WHILE i was still on the operating room table. I was in pain and not even fully conscious. If i had my surgery done in a hospital, this would never have happened. What they should had done was to put me in recovery until i was fully conscious enough to leave. Unfortunately, i was not given that choice. Lee was nowhere to be found. No word of how i was doing. No word if the surgery went well. My family member was in the waiting room and he never came out to tell her how surgery went.
2 years later, my midface is now flat and nonexistent. I have an internal scar tissue bulge that is causing an irregular contour along my jaw line. The sensation is like having a foreign object stuck between the soft tissue of your jaw. The tight swelling, pulling sensation is with me 24/7. My face looks long, saggy and loose. I went from sculpted to Sloppy. I'm sure he has patient coming to him for revision either from past surgeons or from his own experience, so he has knowledge of this happening. The whole "Skin will snap right back" is false. The truth is, once bone is reduced the muscle, soft tissue, will no longer have the support it originally has. Rather it'll age you much faster. if you combine that with cheekbone reduction, the sagging will be much worst. The soft tissue from my midface looks like it has prolapse downward. The whole harmony of my face is off balance. My once sculpted define jawline, gone. I may not be a celebrity but my life and face matters. Everyone deserve the same attention, treatment, and meticulous surgical planning. Instead of going through such an invasive surgery, i should've tried botox. A doctor should have the integrity to not perform a procedure on someone if the benefits and results doesn't outweigh the negatives of expense, risk, pain, and recovery.
I spend most of my days crying that the stress and depression has taken a toll on me. I am passing on my experience so that you can avoid my mistakes and spare yourself the emotional l distress. I should've left my face alone but now my face is ruined. The cheekbone were not properly done and the jaw was overly shaved. My face is completely off balance and oddly shaped. This is the a case where he should've turn me away --People tell me i was prob his experiment...which i agree. It's going to be a very difficult life for me to live. I'm living a nightmare.
