I needed my nose straightened as it was becoming a bit bumpy and the tip was bending down. I also wanted to get a facelift and I was debating whether I should do everythin at once. I was looking for a surgeon that was fully certified and has a lot of experience in my kind of surgery. I found Dr. Amir's web site and I liked the fact that he is specialized in facial plastic surgery and is double board certified. I didn't like the thought of going to a plastic surgeon that does everything. My face is too important to me! I was also impressed with the large number of before/after pictures. During the appointment Dr. Amir showed me exactly what he will be doing and a computer program he has shows you what your nose will look like after surgery. The staff was great too, especially Shanda and Amy. They all made me really comfortable and their confidence and professionalism drove my fears away. Since my surgey required full anaesthesia, I wanted to know who my anaesthesist is. Dr. Diehl turned out to be a great guy with a lot of experience and great credentials. This is important! a lot of people go to a surgeon and know nothing about the anaesthetist. All in all I felt I am in very good hands at Dr. Amir's office. The first night after surgey was not very easy and I am so glad that Dr. Amir insisted on me staying at the hotel next door to the clinique. The nurse was very helpful with the cold compresses, but I should have taken the sleeping pills they gave me. Dr, Amir explained to me exactly what to expect, as a combined surgery has advantages (get it all done at once rather than go through it twice) and disadvantages (you recovery process is longer). The next day I felt a lot better, but I was still purple and blue. When they took off the nose splint (one week after surgery) I felt so good! from that point on, every day was better. In two weeks I was back to normal (although some of the bruising still showed and I needed a bit of make up). I am now five weeks after surgery and it looks and feels great! people tell me I look so much younger (and they don't know why, there is absolutely no sign of the surgery!). I just love Dr. Amir! he is really an artist and an expert surgeon. Just go and see him, you are going to like him immediately. I hope my experience is going to be helpful to you all.
