****Great Plastic Surgeon in Glendale, CA **** A+, July 8, 2008, 7:37 am
I don't live in LA, but I got referred to Doctor Gross by a good friend who is a nurse who does laser treatments in another office in Burbank.
I'm still healing, but I will upload some before and after shots soon. I just asked Dr. Gross's office to send me the before pictures because I didn't take any.
I'm so thrilled, and after reading the on-line forums, I feel so lucky because I didn't do a whole lot of research before having surgery, but I feel like I got the best doctor for me.
I got my breasts done in Montreal over 10 years ago (Dr. Rheault - fantastic!!) and was super happy with that procedure. I took a friend's referral then, and didn't do any research, so I guessed I have really lucked out.
Dr. Gross was really kind, patient and has a fantastic, truly extraordinary, bedside manner/personality. In the consultation, he was so patient. He took a lot of time to explain the procedures that I was considering, and thoroughly and thoughtfully answered all my questions. He's a great listener. At the time, I had never heard of a genioplasty, and was just requesting chin lipo, but after he listened to what I didn't like about my lower face, he explained that he thought that a genioplasty would give me a better result. It sounded horrific, but the recovery from the genioplasty has been so easy (tummy tuck - not so easy).
What is especially fantastic about Gross is that he has a wide wide range of expertises as a surgeon, and I felt really comfortable having him do all three procedures. He worked on separating conjoined twins, and does a lot of revision and facial reconstruction work. The before/after books in his office offer a lot more than his website. From his website, it seems like he is mostly a breast augmentation guy - weird.
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gross, but honestly I wasn't 100% thrilled with my post-op care at the hospital. Dr. Gross does most of his intensive surgeries at the Verdugo Hills Hospital, and if you're staying overnight you stay in the post partum ward. Some of the nurses were really nice, but a few were grumpy and I felt like I had to constantly ask for care. For example, no one ever brought me ice, I always had to ring the call bell.
Overall, it was a good experience with a great, skilled and caring doctor.
