Dr. Stoker is a magician!, August 9, 2010, 12:28 am

Two days ago, I walked into Dr. Stoker's surgery center with my mom's body ("love handles" and thunder thighs-- thanks, heredity and ice cream!). A couple of hours later, I walked out with the slender hips and flanks I used to have as a teenager. Seriously! For the first time in 15 years, my body has a smooth, female contour rather than bulging hips and floppy, fatty flanks. I could not be more thrilled! When Dr. Stoker took off the compression garment in his office the day after my surgery, I was speechless. Truly speechless. I almost couldn't respond, because it was so surreal to be looking at the pretty, dare I say perfectly shaped hips that I'd been longing for since my early twenties (I'm almost 40 now and wish I had done this a decade ago). Even with careful dieting (read: super low calorie diets for years on end), I've never been able to eliminate the fat from certain areas. Now, even with the minor swelling that goes along with lipo, my body already looks one hundred percent better. I can't believe how long I walked around that way, hating my shape. Thank you, Dr. Stoker, for giving me what my parents and will power couldn't... skinny hips!
Some info about the procedure: I did not have to go under general anesthesia (my preference was not to go under general, and Dr. Stoker was willing to devise a surgical plan that let him perform the procedure under local). He and his team chatted with me the whole time, which was great. Once the procedure was over, I probably could have driven myself home if they would have allowed it. It was so much less of an ordeal than I had imagined it might be.
When I got dropped off at home, my toddler son came up to me with his usual grin, gave me his usual hug, and then said "Hi mommy. Oh, tiny mommy!" I really think that says it all!
Bottom line: Dr. Stoker is super talented. I am so glad I went to the guy who wrote the book on lipo. I'm not vain (really, I'm not), but getting rid of the bulge of fat encircling my hips and perching atop my backside has been transformative. I could not be happier! |
