fantastic surgeon, specializes in facial plastic surgery, March 20, 2010, 10:11 pm
I am a physician, and had wanted to undergo rhinoplasty since about 10 years of age. I debated it for ~20 years before finally seeing Dr. Ridenour. I found him on the internet and chose him based on his experience, credentials, and the fact that he specializes in facial plastic surgery. At my first visit he set me immediately at ease, and spent as much time as I needed to discuss goals and operative planning. His office staff are wonderful – it was easy to make an appointment, easy to contact them with questions, and they gave me plenty of information/directions regarding my procedure. After the operation, I saw Dr. Ridenour several times in the early postoperative period. Not only did I see him often, but he went out of his way to see me at times not during his regular office hours, because of my inflexible work schedule. I have since seen him several times, and it's been almost a year since my procedures (i had otoplasty and rhinoplasty.) Before I say how pleased I am with the results, let me emphasize that it takes TIME for everything to heal. Especially in my case, as my rhinoplasty was fairly extensive. My satisfaction with the results has honestly been a rollercoaster, as at times I felt like my nose would never heal! But you have to be patient, as it often takes at least a YEAR for all of the swelling to go down! And it takes longer with more extensive procedures. I have noticed big changes in my nose even now on a month to month basis, and I’m LOVING my new nose. Most importantly, I can’t emphasize enough how thankful I am that I had my procedures done by Dr. Ridneour. As you will see when you look on the internet, rhinoplasty is a very difficult operation, to say the least. Even “minor” rhinoplasty, I believe, should be done by someone who specializes in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Ridenour has been absolutely amazing, and is committed to the happiness of his patients. He is upfront about goals and realistic about expectations. He does not use computerized imaging to “show” you what your nose will look like, because this is unrealistic. Instead he will give you details on your anatomy and what he will change. He is a wonderful surgeon, trustworthy, with excellent “bedside manner.” Go to his website (www.ridenourplasticsurgery.com) for more information and before/after photos. My last piece of advice is to not go into this procedure lightly… it’s a real operation, the results are not immediate, and you’re permanently changing your face. When you decide to proceed (or even if you just want to talk to someone), see Dr. Ridenour!!
