Goodbye Love Handles - Thanks Dr. Galumbeck, January 24, 2008, 1:00 pm
Reviewer: rico59

I'm an active, athletic guy and spend time at the gym and watch my diet. I have a good basic shape and excellent health. But I tend to be stocky, and as I've aged, (I'm 48), the love handles were taking on a life of their own.

I heard about Dr. Galumbeck from a guy at the gym who told me he'd had lipo (waist and abs) done by the Dr., with great results. I checked it out for myself.

His staff, including the patient coordinator, Marlene, and his lead RN, Marsha, were awesome. The facilities were easy to get to, and were clean and orderly. He does surgeries in his own accredited surgery suite. I was glad that he had that under control. I hate hospitals, hospitals billing, etc..

The patient coordinator quoted me a figure, bottom line, all inclusive, after I'd met the doctor at the first consultation. I'd done some research, it sounded on target. I decided to have my love handles done.

Since I first decided to visit Dr. Galumbeck for a consult, I'd told others. They all had good things to say about his safety and results. He's the only one in Hampton Roads that I could find who does the laser liposuction. I'd read about that on medical sites.

I didn't want that tumescent liposuction that some local physicians promote as the new thing - it was the new thing in 1985!

The surgery took 20 minutes. I walked out of the surgery to a friend's car. There was some discomfort, but I've known much worse. The incisions were closed with one suture each.

I wore a man girdle for 4 days. I was really glad that I had laser lipo, since with traditional lipo, you're advised to wear it for six weeks!

I was back at work on the third day after surgery. I stopped pain meds completely on the fourth day. I worked out for the first time one week after.

I'm six weeks out of surgery now. I can see a difference, and the results keep getting better. There's some discomfort, but nothing I can't put up with, and it diminishes each day.

I'm back at the gym and have lost a few pounds, but I look like I've lost way more than I have, due to the lack of love handles.

I'd recommend Dr. Galumbeck and laser liposuction to other men.

The man to see in Virginia Beach, January 11, 2008, 11:32 am

I came into his building nervous and left feeling confident and excited! Dr. Galumbeck and his staff are all very polite and very knowledgeable (it also doesn't hurt that Dr. Galumbeck is quite handsome). At the consultation I had a million questions and they were answered before I even had to ask them. You can tell he has been doing this for a while. Making an appointment was very quick and easy. As for my procedure, everything went well. As soon as I came through the door, they were expecting me and I was helped immediately. The anesthesiologist was so nice! I was out before I knew it and Dr. Galumbeck was done in the time he said it was going to take. To top it off, they day after the procedure, he sent flowers to my door! I have been telling everyone that will listen about him, he is great!

I really like dr. Galumbeck; He is professional, approachable, and knowledgable. He made me feel like I was his only patient. He did a good job and my results from the procedure are wonderful.
The only problem I had (which is minor)was the anesthesiololgist was somewhat insensitive prior to putting me out. She put the IV in my upper wrist and missed the vein my wrist filled up like a balloon, and it hurt really bad. I told her I was uncomfortable with the pain, and she said something along the lines of it can get much bigger before she needs to move it, then she walked off. I woke up with the IV in a different location and my wrist was in pain for a week. I didn't say anything to the doctor about it. I've had surgeries before and I've never had an anesthesiololgist be insensitive like that.
It was just a minor inconvenience compared to having such a nice doctor as Matthew Galumbeck, I would recommend to anyone looking to have Cosmetic surgery to choose Dr Galumbeck.

Not only is he nice, He's nice looking too.
