Beware of Dr. Eleanor Barone and Isis Cosmetic!, September 27, 2008, 10:29 am
Please ask for references from former patients of Dr. Barone. If you canít talk to at least 3 former patients of this doctor who had the same surgery you are going to get from herÖthat should be a major red flag.
I, unfortunately, didnít get the references and went through with the surgery anyway. As a result, I can still only give a half smile one month after neck smart lipo. They canít put me in touch with any former patients and canít give me an answer as to the typical average timeframe an individual can smile again after having smart lipo of the neck. I may never be able to give a full smile again for the rest of my life and they donít seem to care.
Before the surgery, Isis Cosmetic was able to only have ONE former patient call me about his smart lipo procedure on his neck. His name was Dave and he told me how great it is and that he was able to go to a party the same night after his surgery, which is far from my experience. I was thinking I would be like him but I was so swollen and bruised, it was very embarrassing for me at work and I had to come up with some other surgery excuse. I also couldn't speak right or smile at all.
I tried to call Dave after the surgery when I was worried about how differently my surgery was from his and to ask him how long it took him to smile and I got his voicemail instead. It turns out that this former patient, Dave, actually works for Isis in marketing! That's right, his job is to try and increase sales for Isis. He did get smart lipo on his neck, but not from Dr. Eleanor Barone and he never revealed to me that he actually works for Isis Cosmetic. That's something I think anyone would want to know because there's a lot of bias there. I think it is very interesting that Isis Cosmetic could only find ONE former patient to call me about their experience with this surgery, and that it is an Isis employee who works in marketing for Isis and didn't have his surgery with Eleanor Barone.
It doesnít matter the type of lipo tools being usedÖ.the surgeon doing the surgery is the most important thing. Please donít make the same mistake I did.
During the surgery, I was completely awake with zero medications in my body except for an antibiotic. This is the norm for Vaser and Smart Lipo. However, I might have well been completely knocked out under general anestesia in eyes of Dr. Eleanor Barone at Isis. She manhandled me, smushing my face in, covery my nose so I couldn't breathe as she violently moved the canula in and out like a saw. She'd move my face and head around as if I were knocked out. Her and the tech were dropping things left and right, seemed confused, and I felt like I was in the middle of a circus.
None of that would mean anything to me if the results turned out well. But that didn't happen; the complete opposite. As a result of the surgery, I can no longer smile. I can give a half smile but not a full smile. When I smile I look like I suffer from Downs Syndrom. I just chalked it up to healing with all of the really rock hard scar tissue on my neck from the smart lipo and my skin feeling like it's super glued to that scar tissue. But now that a whole month has gone by, I am really worried.
The staff at Isis Cosmetic are extremely unprofessional. They don't care about former patients...don't care that I can't smile. As long as they've got my money already, they're happy. They can't tell me what the typical time frame is for being able to smile again after neck smart lipo and can't get me in touch with ANY former patient of hers that had the same surgery in the same area to give me comfort.
I paid a ton of money for someone to treat me like trash, beat me up, take only 30 cc's total out of my neck leaving me look no different than before the surgery, and making not smile again. That's the worst part about it. I can take paying someone a lot of money to not make my neck look thinner, embarrass me at work; but paying someone money to make me not ever able to smile again where it looks like I'm not mentally challenged, is just too much for me. The way they've discarded me after the surgery is unreal. I never even read in the pre-consent anything about risking not being able to smile again so this was completely a surprise to me, very unexpected. They couldn't have paid ME any amount to do this to me.
