I was recommended by a girlfriend who had an excellent result with her mini-facelift with Dr. Blinski.

I had never had any kind of surgery before, and although at age 59 I was very unhappy with the aging look of my sagging upper eyelids and the bags that had developed below my eyes, the thought of surgery was pretty frightening.

I decided that since I was doing the eyelids, I might as well do the rest and get rid of the loose skin that was starting to sag beneath my chin with a mini-facelift.

I was very frightened the morning of my surgery and had half a mind to chicken out, but Dr. B and his staff were very soothing and calming, and off we went.

The surgery and recovery went very well. Dr. Blinski was available for every question or concern I had, and he was very comforting, because I have to tell you, you don't look so good at first!

I had no need of any of the pain medication Dr. Blinski had prescribed, nor had any problems post-op with nausea or with sleeping.

I stayed in for a week and then felt well enough to be out and about with sunglasses, although I was reluctant to put makeup on for the first couple of weeks.

My stitches came out in about 2 weeks, and I have missed my tennis games, but I've been able to engage in other, less strenuous exercise activities and will start back with tennis next week, about 3 months after my operation. Dr. B. said I could have started tennis sooner.

The results have been better than I had expected, particularly from the mini-facelift. In addition to the reduction in the under-chin sagging, the skin on my cheeks and sides of my face is much smoother and virtually wrinkle-free.

The excess skin is now gone from my upper eyelids, I no longer have bags below my eyes, and also virtually undectable scarring from the stitches. I can put on eyeliner and not have it end up smugged on my upper eyelid.

The scars behind my ears are covered by my hair, so no one sees that, and they're fading more each day.

I'll be back in Dr. Blinski's offices in a few months to have an out-patient procedure to lift my brows just a bit. This will open my eyes a bit more. This was something Dr. Blinski wanted to do during my procedure, but I thought at the time that I was doing enough already and passed on that part of the work. In hindsight, he was of course right, and I should have had that done as well.

I have to say that although the results to my eyes are quite dramatic, I have not had one comment from friends or closest family (only my husband knew I was having this work done) except an occasional comment on what beautiful skin I have, and what's my beauty secret. I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a few years and they commented on my youthful look, but to those people who I see on a regular basis, and even family members who I don't see that often, no one seems to have noticed a change. While that is surprising, after all, isn't that the results you want from cosmetic surgery - a more youthful look that isn't dramatically noticeable.

That's what I wanted - and Dr. Blinski delivered.
