MY PERSONAL REVIEW

My experience with Dr Miller was mixed. His staff was extremely professional and attentive and they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. As I was an out-of-town patient, they really bent over backwards to make sure that my appointments were taken care of and that I was healing well.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Miller was not so great. I had a phone consultation with him prior to my surgery date and I felt very confident with him. My first in-person appointment with Dr. Miller was scheduled the day before my surgery. I arrived from a long day at various airports and was seen by Dr. Miller's nurse. After waiting for three hours (yes, three hours), Dr. Miller came into the exam room and asked me a few questions about size, etc. He saw me for all of about 15 minutes and rushed off.

My surgery the next day went well and I had high hopes for the results. I was a bit worried because the volume under the wrappings seemed very big, but I thought it was probably due to swelling. As I would later learn, my breast implants were much larger than I wanted, but cc volume was never discussed, only cup size. I didn't know any better at the time and Dr. Miller didn't bring it up. In addition, Dr. Miller never offered to show me the implants that he was planning on using on me.

I went back to the office for my two post-ops, and Dr. Miller was unavailable for one of them (keep in mind that I flew in from out of state for the appointments). During the appointment that he was available for, he was again hurried. He was also evasive when I questioned him on his choice of size.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about my surgery. I think that Dr. Miller is a talented and knowledgeable surgeon. He did a good job on my breast lift in terms of shape and overall appearance. However, he definitely did not listen to what I wanted in terms of size (sort of important, yes?). He also did not really try to understand what I wanted, as we never discussed cc volume, nor did we look at different implant sizes or use the rice test. Unfortunately for me, I only learned about these options after my surgery. Next time, I will make sure that I have a much more thorough communication with my doctor in advance of the surgery. I have learned my lesson, and it could have been much worse!
