I have done a lot of research on tummy tucks and have chosed to do a procedure called Progressive Tension Sutures Technique(most of the time it's also called NO DRAINS tuck), which is performed only by several surgeons, I think it helps in healing process a lot. For more information you can read here: http://www.drpollock.com/progressive-tension-sutures.htm
After 2 kids I have decided to do a tummy tuck and have chosen Dr. Baxter in Lynnwood, WA ( He does Progressive Tension Sutures, but also uses drains for around 3 days, he thinks it helps).
For anybody who is looking to do a tummy tuck, I recommend Dr. Baxter highly. Also a tip before going into surgery, try on several bathing suits or panties which you like a draw a scar location with marker, and have the surgeon place a scar as close as possible to your drawing. Another tip is what to eat to help the scar heal better. It is a chinese teaching: No seafood (prawns, crabs etc.) cause they contain poisonous substances which will cause infection to the wound and thereafter leaving ugly marks. No chicken, no food with dark soy sauce, no cucumber and vegetables with sticky juice. Also cut down your salt intake. Try to have only plain porridge/rice with an egg or white bread with milk for the first 3 weeks.
I also take Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins made by Andrew Lessman, which I think really help.
