Did you get any procedure(s) done by this doctor?   Yes
Date of your procedure(s):   March 2, 2006
Procedure(s) I had done:   None

Dr. Larsen performed a full face lift on me in early 2006. I left the country shortly thereafter and have been living away from the US since. Immediately after the surgery (during post-op office visits) he realized that my eyes and eyebrows were uneven. He "corrected" the matter in a mini-surgery with local anasthetic in his office by removing a bit more eyelid from one eye, but the procedure did not change my uneven appearance. He told me it would improve as my face healed. When I left the US in May, I was still healing, but by December 2006, I fully realized that my eyebrow lift was completely uneven (in fact crooked). My right eyebrow is significantly higher than my left which makes my face look almost deformed (in photos especially). I tried to contact Dr. Larsen repeatedly via email and telephone. Aside from brief email responses and a phone conversation initiated by me during which he was completely distracted playing with his infant daughter, I was unable to get a reasonable and responsible answer from him regarding my concerns. After months passed and my efforts yielded no results, I sent via certified mail, a very detailed letter with photos and requested a refund for the cost of the facelift and monies to cover corrective surgery with another doctor. Without the courtesy of a personal response, he directly forwarded the letter to his insurance company. He and his insurance representative delayed the entire process with the intent of postponing a resolution until the 2 year deadline passed for cosmetic surgery malpractice suits. His insurance representative told me that I could only take Dr. Larsen to court if I had been left blind or otherwise fatally damaged. The deadline passed and I filed a formal complaint to the Georgia Medical Board. My complaint against Dr. Larsen's surgery (including before/after photos) and the manner in which he dealt with my problem afterward is currently with the Investigative Committee of the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners in Georgia.

Before the facelift he had also performed a tummy tuck and breast lift on me. I have no complaints about those proceedures. But I want to warn all women considering a FACELIFT with Dr. Larsen to seriously rethink their options. To avoid regretting the decision later, please choose another doctor for your facelift. I have to cover the costs of a corrective surgery in the very near future as I will be moving back to the US.
