Date of your procedure(s):   July 18, 2006
Procedure(s) I had done:   None

I don't know yet how the final result will look like, so I can't judge completely on that now (Now I'm not satisfied because of uneven nostrils, but I'm only 7 weeks post, so they still can even out).

When I called to make an the appointment with the doctor, it could be set a few weeks later. The waiting list for the operation was about two months (but I planned it later), but I think that isn't too long.

The appointment itself went well, although I had the feeling that I had to ask the doctor things. He didn't explain everything right away - I guess he thought that I already knew enough because I used some specific terms because of my research on the internet etc before daring to make an appointment ;)

I a prescription for pills (with a great deal of vitamins) that I had to take two weeks before and three weeks after the surgery, to minimise bruising and fasten the recovery period a bit.

The operation itself started on time, even a bit earlier than planned! An hour later I already was back in the room! I was a bit nauseous because of the anaesthesia, but in the afternoon I was well enough to go home.

I am certainly satisfied with how the staff treated me. They were very friendly and helped me where they could, even a bit too much!

They called a few weeks before surgery to repeat the big date and give the exact time of the surgery and when I had to be there, and to remember me to start taking the pills.

When I went home after surgery, they gave me the phone number of the doctor and said I could call him 24 hours a day. I also got information about what to and what not to do during recovery (but not enough about what not to do before - they didn't mention you'ld better not drink alcohol as from two weeks before surgery, and since I was in Italy then, I got me a few cocktails :p).

Two days after the operation they called to ask how I felt and if I had experienced any problems etc.

The bruising was gone after two weeks and I haven't experienced any pain. Overall, the recovery is going better than I expected.

But the waiting until the swelling is completely gone and the final result is visible, is difficult of course!
