Where do I start? I am a registered nurse, 50 yrs old, starting menopause with a body I no longer recognized as my own. I had a body most would call “voluptuous”. Very proud of my curves, never wanting to be thinner, but in the last 2 years I started slowly turning into the Michelin Man. I even joined a “boot camp” hoping to develop a six pack, but alas….it only turned into a keg. I had thought many times about doing something about it, but never did, for many reasons.
One day I was on the internet looking up reputable plastic surgeons with an emphasis on liposuction. I found Dr Stoker, went to his website, spent quite a long time going through the site, especially the before and after pictures. Could he help me???
As soon as I met him, I knew I like him. He was confidant and professional, and he didn’t laugh when he looked at my thighs. I told him I was tired of my thighs rubbing together and I wanted to get rid of at least ONE tire from my belly. After answering all my questions, I met with Christi the office manager. She gave me a professional nurse discount ( I didn’t even ask for it! ) and payment options not even my husband could object to……. Well, not too strongly anyway. After all was said and done, with her help, we set a date.
It hasn’t been quite a month yet and I LOVE my new, old body. I was concerned about losing my shape, but I did not. I look the way I did 10 years ago. The surgery itself was a piece of cake. I was told I might be sore, as if I had worked out hard but let me tell you, doing 50 leg lifts in boot camp are a lot more painful!
Last, but not least, the office staff. Amazing, nice, experienced. Tammi, Dr Stoker’s nurse was great, alleviating all my fears by letting me know what to expect. All questions were answered. Messages left were answered by the end of the day. They were wonderful. Remember, its my field. I’m quite the critic.
