I had my surgery about 10 years ago and my facelift has only recently started to show signs of sagging at the age of 58. Following the facelift, there was a slight raised "fold" around the temple area on one side that was more noticeable when I tilted my head forward, but that disappeared in due time. Unfortunately, I woke up near the end of my surgery while I was being sutured and suffered more nerve damage behind the ear on that side, probably due to moving my head to escape the pain! I couldn't open my eyes or talk, so it was one of those nightmare experiences, but didn't last very long. I never mentioned it to the doctor and eventually ALL the feeling came back to that side, but it took a number of years. I was pleased with the facelift because the nasolabial folds that I detested were gone and even ten years later, are better than before my surgery. I developed hypertrophic scars behind my ears and was given Kenalog injections after I complained about them, which flattened them out, stopped the itching and left me a happy camper.

I was not 100% happy with my blepharoplasty because it seemed to give a downward tilt to the lateral corners of my eyes and I also felt that the corners looked too open. I have since learned that a canthopexy is what solves this problem. Overall, the surgery really improved my appearance so I can't complain, it's just one of those little details that many of us discover after the fact.

I had very good follow-up care and the doctor and his assistant were pleasant and friendly. The location was slightly off the beaten path, but that was actually a plus when walking out with my head all wrapped in bandages! The price was reasonable, considering that it was Manhattan. The software forced me to give a date for the procedure, which is impossible at this point, but I still wanted to rate the doctor.
