Did you get any procedure(s) done by this doctor?   Yes
Date of your procedure(s):   October 15, 2008
Procedure(s) I had done:   None

I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Brantner in 2006 first. He went through the belly button. I now know that this method makes ZERO sence to a good plastic surgeon. Reason being, there is a valve on the saline implants, that must be pushed down into place by the surgeon's finger. If the valve is not checked for proper closure in this manner, then leakage occurs at some point.

In anycase, I did not know this at the time, and low and behold, 18 months after my surgery, I had a leaking implant. At that time, I had purchased the Warranty, and I did not have to come out of pocket to replace the leaking implant.

BUT, Dr. Brantner AGAIN chose an incision site (my armpit), that did not allow for him to stick his finger over the valve to check that it was closed properly. Unbeknownst to me, I was doomed again.

You can guess what happened next: Yup. Another leak 2 years after that - THE SAME DARN IMPLANT.

This time, when I went back to Dr. Brantner's office to have him look at it again. Not only did he reccommend that he go through the armpit AGAIN, but he also had changed his policy regarding the Warranty. As of July 2010, he demands the $2,400.00 cash UP-FRONT to do the implant exchange. AND, the patient has to wait the 6-8 weeks to get reimbursed by the Warranty Company!! And that's if they decide that the implant failed due to the integrity of the product - pretty iffy.

When I told the front desk girl - who by the way was an insensitive twit - that I did not have the $2,400.00 cash to pay up front, and would she ask Dr. Brantner to make an exception, she - without asking him, said that he would not make any exceptions. She also wished me "good luck" in finding a surgeon who would do any surgery without paying cash upfront.

Well Ladies, or whoever is reading this, check this out: I found a BRILLIANT DOCTOR in Thousand Oaks, who not only didn't make me pay up front, but explained to me why I kept having leaking implants. Dr. Brantner basically is using the WRONG technique to put in saline implants (with valves). Failing implants is inevitable because of his surgery method.

I STRONGLY suggest that you call Dr. Zol Kryger, or his brother Dr. Gil Kryger, who are board certified Plastic Surgeons, who are on the Board for the actual Implant Company. They even do Free Consults. And, his office staff is wonderful. Dr. Zol Kryger did my implant exchange, and the experience was quick and FANTASTIC. Dr. Kryger went through the crease of my breast (underneith), and it was amazingly easy, almost zero pain. I can barely see a mark where he went in. AMAZING.

Dr. Zol Kryger is totally professional and highly knowedgable about breast augmentation, and other plastic surgeries. ** He has even written a manual on Plastic Surgery for other Doctor's to learn from!** HELLO... You must see these guys and get any plastic surgery you need, done through them. I will ONLY see Dr. Kryger from now on!!
