Dr.Oelbrandt – Belgium. Breast Augmentation.

I went for my consultation in Harley Street, London; 3rd July 2006. Luckily for me, the surgeon I was scheduled to see was replaced by Dr. Oelbrandt. He really put me at ease the minute I walked in. He was really friendly and very informative. He gave me the answers to all my questions and anxieties with regards to the different types of implants; sizes and whether to have under or over the muscle procedures. All the pros and cons were given in layman’s language. An appointment was made and in a very short time as I needed it done in the school holidays; August 23rd 2006. I work in a comprehensive school.

Dr Oelbrandt gave very good advice about size as I as concerned that I didn’t want pupils to notice and comment, yet I wanted a size that complimented my shape and looked natural.

I was given a price; booked the appointment and was told that I could back out at any stage if I wasn’t sure. Trying different size implants in your bra at the consultation really helps give you an insight to how you will look after the procedure! It is very weird viewing the difference mind and make sure you choose what you will be happy with long term! Take the advice from Dr. Oelbrandt; he knows what he’s talking about and doesn’t want to make you look like you have two tennis balls and he is very straight with his advice; which is refreshing and welcome.

I booked my ferry and hotel through the information Dr Oelbrandt gave me. He was very helpful and thorough. It made things so much easier.

Arriving at the clinic I was so anxious when I discovered I wasn’t having a GENERAL anaesthetic but a LOCAL. I was under the misapprehension that local meant you were awake! WRONG! You are sedated and are not aware of anything. It just makes the recovery quicker and the risks that come with general anaesthetic are greatly reduced. I was so determined I would not go home without the procedure being done, by this time I wouldn’t have cared if I was awake ha ha!

The surgery was over before I knew it and I even went out for a meal the same night!! The dressings weren’t anywhere nearly as big as I thought they would be and self care is easy. You are given a prescription to collect the dressings and bacterial wash etc. Be prepared to be horrified by the scar tissue! I wasn’t aware of the hardness and the swelling. This is normal and it doesn’t take long to fade. About one year after my procedure they were hardly visible. 3 years on; they aren’t!! He is a fantastic surgeon; so neat! I had in fact also booked a mini tummy tuck and backed out due to nerves over the scarring. Silly me! I am now trying to raise the money to go back and have this done. I would not hesitate and have every confidence in him. He also removed two moles from my face; I had not trusted my GP to do. You can’t see any trace! This has made an enormous difference to my confidence and I feel I’m half way to being a new me! Mini tummy tuck here I come.

Any worries you have, discuss with Dr. Oelbrandt. He is straight talking and honest. He has been brilliant in keeping in touch with news letters and always answers my emails promptly.

I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. I can’t fault any part of my procedure from consultation to date. Outstanding! I can’t thank him enough for the change in me.

They now offer the option of a hospital stay with linked support. This may be something to consider as the only experience I had that may have needed extra care was a high temperature and raging thirst the night after the operation. Take bottled water with you; especially if you are staying in a B&B. There won’t be any available throughout the night and tap water isn’t a good option. Get a room with ensuite as you may feel like cooling down throughout the night if you experience a raised temperature. Everything else – GREAT! All I can say is go for it! You won’t regret it.
