Whenever I read patient reviews (and I read a lot), I liked to see their specs first. After all, who can better understand what I am considering and what I have to go through than those who were once in my shoes? So, here it is: Asian, no children, 95 lbs, 5”, 34AA (or even AAA) before surgery, happily reformed to 34B with 275cc cohesive gel silicone.

I did my research, and had consultations with some of the best surgeons in town before I decided on Dr. Chiu. If you did your homework, and read numerous reviews about him online, you can probably guess why: patient, good bedside manners, knowledgeable, excellent staff (Chammy, especially), personable, etc. All A+++. However, the real decision maker for me was that Dr. Chiu appeared to do volume. As a professional, I can truly appreciate the value of volume work and experience that necessarily follows. Also, he didn’t push me to a size he wanted for me. I required a lot of hand holding by both Dr. Chiu and Chammy, but decided on the size of my own implants, and am very happy with it now. Finally, I always felt like I can slow down, change my mind or even turn back without the surgeon’s censure. Even less than 30 minutes to the surgery, Dr. Chiu gave me the room to walk away from the surgery. Certainly, I don’t mean to encourage anyone to hastily make the decision on a surgery, thinking that he/she can always change his/her mind later. However, when you are about to spend thousands of dollars, and significantly and permanently change the way you look, you better make sure that it’s your decision, not that of the surgeon. If there is comfort to be had in knowing that you won’t be bulldozed into a procedure, you will have that assurance with Dr. Chiu.

Whatever procedure and whoever surgeon you decide on, good luck to you. But before you make the final decision, I hope you will take advantage of the free consultation offered by Dr. Chiu. Between him and Chammy, you will have the opportunity to learn a lot more than what you already know about the procedure you are considering. By the time they are done with you on that first session, you will either decide on Dr. Chiu as your surgeon, or at least have the dilemma of choosing the right surgeon between Dr. Chiu and someone else. For me, I am certainly glad I decided on Dr. Chiu.
