MY PERSONAL REVIEW

This is the first time I have written a review on any doctor. I have had 6 FUT hair transplants at Bosley and MHR, and with one plastic surgeon. Going to Hair Medical Restoration in Tijuana, Mexico was a nightmare. I was given a price quote which really caught my attention and told that with the FUE technique I would need to have my head shaved. This concerned me, and I was assured that the doctor, Dr. Jorge Cortez, would do a permanent hair tattoo procedure on my two hair transplant scars on the back of my head. One scar nearest my scalp was white in color and flat. The only thing I was told about doing the tattoo procedure was that it cannot be done the same day as the FUE hair transplant procedure. The doctor told me that I am mistaken. My email threads only showed one mention of the tattoo procedure by indicating to me that the tattoo procedure cannot be done the same day as the FUE hair transplant procedure. The doctor knew I would be in Tijuana for 9 days. I was also never told that my procedure would not be performed at Hospital Angeles. It would have been nice to know this. I was picked up the morning of my procedure by a driver hired by Dr. Cortez. My procedure seemed to go okay without any problems. I was later told that they would not do the tattoo procedure. I said this is a problem and actually swore at the doctor for misleading me. They knew I was concerned about having the procedure and shaving my head. I was assured that the hair tattooing procedure would camoflage the noticeable scars. They wanted to lock me in for the initial procedure and then break the bad news later about the tattoo procedure. Had I been properly informed I would have extended my stay. After a lengthy argument, the doctor agreed to do the tattoo procedure the day that my flight left, which was 7 days after my hair transplant procedure. One of the very first questions I asked when I came to the doctor's office was - Is the permanent hair tattoo ink the same color as my hair which is light brown. I was told that it is in fact the same color as my hair. The doctor's office is actually listed under a different name at Hospital Angeles in Tijuana, Mexico. It is listed under the name of Dra. Concepcion Gonzalez - Dermatology. My doctor is not even listed as a doctor at that hospital. Dra. Gonzalez has given Dr. Jorge Cortez exclusive rights to use her facility for his business. The end result with the permanent hair tattoo procedure was botched. The color of the tattoo ink is black and my hair color is light brown. One of the hair transplant scars that goes ear to ear near my scalp is flat, white in color, and actually looked much better before having the tattoo procedure done. I now wear a hat and plan to have a series of 6-8 laser tattoo removal procedures to get rid of the doctor's mistake. Please think twice before going to this unethical and incompetent doctor.
