MY PERSONAL REVIEW

8/12/16. On 2/5/15 I had an abdominoplasty with Dr Grado he did not see me afterwards for my 7 day follow up because he was out of the country. I was seen by a nurse in the office. She removed my bandages and stitches from my belly button. On February 27th I was told I could go to my general practitioner to have my drain removed. I asked about a follow up appointment and was told I didn't need to see Dr Grado until April 30th, 2016 unless I thought I had fluid buildup. I emailed March 6th telling them that I didn't feel like my compression was enough and I NEVER got any reply so I waited until my appointment on 4/30/16. At the appointment I told Dr Grado what my concerns were and he said the bubble on my lower abdomen was swelling and I could come back in October 2016 to fix the "dog ears". On 5/8/16 I requested photos and surgical notes and got some photos. I again requested the additional photos and note on 5/21/16 and have never gotten them. I waited until October to request an appointment for my revision and inform them that my general practitioner said that I had a seroma. They scheduled an appointment for December and said they would ask the doctor if he would want to see me sooner about the seroma. 10/23/16 I sent a photo of the seroma to try to get an earlier appointment. He said on 10/28/16 that he could not tell if it was a seroma by the photo and rescheduled my appointment and continued to reschedule it until March 27, 2016. February 18,2016 after the last reschedule, I asked for a copy of all of my medical records and all correspondences and was told they would email a release. I had to email again asking for the release on February 29, 2016. I had to email again on March 17, 2016 because I had not gotten any records. I was told I could get them at my appointment on March 31,2016. At my appointment, I was given minimal records. After seeing Dr Grado I was told to make an appointment to have my seroma drained and get a revision on my dog ears. I went to his clinic on April 20, 2016, expecting to FINALLY get something done. When I went to my appointment, he stuck a large needle in my abdomen hitting the abdominal wall causing excruciating pain. He then stated that he wanted me to see a colleague, the Professor at the University of Iowa, for a second opinion. I saw Dr Lawrence on May 27, 2016. He said that I had a subcutaneous cyst....that he could offer a solution but it would cost $6090 or if I did it under a local anesthesia they could do it for $3,250 but it would have to be done in stages because the amount of local anesthesia could kill me doing it all at once. I emailed
Dr Grado's office rather angry that I had been given the run around for so long. They emailed to set up an appointment to get a "game plan together". I saw Dr Grado again on July 7th. He stated that he would do the procedure himself in his office under local anesthesia. After being told it was too dangerous to do all at once under local by the Professor of Plastic Surgery, I opted not to risk my life. I asked for a full refund and all of my medical records.
