She continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she received her Medical Doctorate with Highest Honors and numerous academic awards including graduating as the salutatorian of her medical school class. Dr. Walden received her formal training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed an externship at the prestigious Plastic Surgery Associates in Miami under the direction of Dr's. After completing her residency training, she moved from Texas to New York to pursue her special interest in aesthetic surgery during her fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital under the direction of Sherrell J. Aston, MD. During her fellowship, she benefited from the knowledge and expertise of many internationally known leaders in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery. Prior to relocating her practice back to her hometown of Austin, Texas, Dr. Walden served as the Program Director of the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, one of the foremost organized training programs of cosmetic surgery in the nation.

Dr. Jennifer Walden is a female plastic surgeon in Austin, Texas who is dedicated to providing her patients with a comfortable environment to address their aesthetic concerns.

Consultations can last from 30 to 45 minutes on the average. A typical breast augmentation or rhinoplasty consultation involves Dr Walden's nurse or medical assistant asking questions about your medical history and your desires and expectations for the surgery you are seeking. Next Dr Walden will examine you and make specific recommendations based upon your anatomy. She will explain the process and technique of the surgery as well as what to expect for your results and the length of your recovery. Every individual patient is different, so no one consultation or recommendation is the same. After that, Dr Walden's surgical coordinator and nurse will explain more about the logistics of having surgery done, lab work required, and discuss fees. Patients are able to book surgery at this time, or go home, think about it and call back with questions or come in for a second consultation.

Once surgery has been booked, a pre-op packet is sent to you to read prior to your pre-op visit. At the pre-op visit, Dr Walden will discuss the surgical plan with you, solidify implant size with you if you are undergoing breast augmentation, and medical photographs will be taken. Dr Walden's nurse will give you all of your prescriptions for post-op at this time and explain the "day of surgery" process once again in detail. All of your questions will be answered to the best of our ability. This is an excellent time to bring your spouse or significant other who may be helping in your decision-making, or have opinions about the process as well.

Qualities that a patient should look for are compassion, patience, advanced technical skill, a keen aesthetic sense, having performed the procedure in question successfully many times prior, and board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. As well, it is important for your surgeon to have hospital staff privileges at a nearby institution so that if any complications or issues arise you can be treated there expeditiously. Dr Walden performs most of her surgical procedures in a hospital so that resources are immediately available for your safety and best care.

Dr Walden enjoys plastic surgery as these procedures can oftentimes provide life-changing and visible results with a single procedure.

Helping patients to feel "whole" or restored to match the way they feel on the inside is the most important aspect of this surgical field. The most rewarding part of Dr. Walden's job is simply having a patient say, "Thank you".
