I am looking at going to Mexico to have gastric by-pass. Has anyone done this and who did they go to? I am looking at Dr. Joya. Does anyone know anything about him or heard anything about him?

Hi, I had my surgery done in Monterrey, Mexico with Dr. Ricardo Javier Salinas Garza on 1/20/05. His website is www.DrSalinas.com. I did verywell after surgery, was uncomfortalble for the first 3 days, but after that I did fine. Dr. Salinas is a good doctor and treated me with respect. I would do the surgery again in an instant. I do not regret my decision for one moment! so far I have lost 74lbs. I was 250lbs when I had the surgery. Went from a size 20 to a size 12/14. He does about 2 to 3 surgerys per day. I know 5 other people from my town who have gone to him, and everyone is satisfied with his work. I hope this helps you.
