I has Botox injections in February in my brow and around my eyes, my resultslasted only 3 weeks. I went back to my doctor and he reinjected me again in the same areas and this time it lasted 2 months. Has anyone else has problems with keeping their Botox results?

Now, I get only 8 units every 3 mos. (no headaches) and I use wrinkle relaxers to "supplement" the botox. My fav one now is Relax Plus Vialox and the other one I use for around my eyes is the Relax-A-Line. That vialox is a new one and it is super-strong. Excellent for my frown lines. The Relax-A-Line is not as strong but just right for my crow's feet. Neither is too expensive. I got mine at cellularskinrx.com but I think **************.com sells it, too. |

I have been using the wrinkle relaxers for about a year now? and they work very nicely. Vialox stuff is much stronger than the Relax-A-Line so use it for your lines that drive you crazy and the Relax-A-Line for the less troublesome wrinkles.
Good luck! |

posted by: ivory | | Posted Wed, Jul 20 at 3:04 PM PDT | | In my experience, (have had botox for 4 years), the results are cummulative, the longer you stick with it the longer it lasts, due to the fact that you stop making the expressions you normally make now. Not that you become expressionless, by any means but I noticed I stopped furring my brow as much, there for the results last longer, just had my botox this week and my last injection before this was September. |

I went to another doctor and my frown lines finally got paralyzed (never worked before) and it lasts longer now. I don't know what the reason is exactly but it must have something to do with injection technique, skill of the doctor or the way they dilute the stuff. |

He said it didn't work to come back within 2 weeks and he'd reinject. It worked however and I am so happy with the results. I'd do again even in 2 months -I payed $200- No cream can do what Botox does........... |

posted by: ivorygirl | | Posted Sat, Jul 23 at 4:24 AM PDT | That is cheap..I paid almost 600 for the forehead and brow with a bit to the crows feet. Worked great, btw! I think Im at about 5 wks and I guess I'm getting used to it because the tightness feels lessened. It really lifted up my brows, gave me a nice arch. My PS is a genious, I don't want to go to anyone else but there is a big $$ difference here. How much do most people pay? I'm in the NE.

posted by: Claire63 | | Posted Mon, Jul 25 at 8:12 AM PDT | | Yes. I have to say that it works very well for me, too. I think the Vialox is much stronger and if I massage it in a bit, I really can "feel" it sort of getting in there, spreading around. For me, definitely not a "scam" product. I also use the Relax-A-Line and have been for more than a year now. I think since these products work off of limiting enzyme release if youdon't really make a lot of them, then you probably wouldn't see much of a result. |

posted by: ErikaM | | Posted Thu, Jul 28 at 7:50 AM PDT | In the meantime the Vialox I ordered arrived too. I've been using it for only 3 days so I'll withhold judgement for now. So far I can't detect any effect though.
In general I'm thinking it's worth a try but what worries me is the warning that I found in the following article http://www.smartskincare.com/treatments/acetylhexapeptide.html
"..And while Argireline may reduce wrinkles, it may also, in theory, increase facial sag because the neurotransmitters whose release Argireline inhibits, help maintain facial firmness. Notably, a popular firming skin care ingredient DMAE firms by stimulating the release of neurotransmitters and increasing facial tension, i.e. by producing roughly the opposite effect to Argireline. Whether Argireline may indeed contribute to facial sag has not been studied. Until more is known, people prone to facial sag should approach Argireline with caution and monitor their facial firmness while on it."
Argiriline is the active ingredient in Relax-A Line. I know Vialox has another active incredient but I guess it's the same principle.
