This reusable Compress provides up to 2 hours of cold or hot relief. With simple freezer storage between uses, this reusable eye compress can be applied again and again for either cold or relief. For hot therapy, taking the Masque from the freezer and placing it in a large pan of boiling water (see Instructions below) will provide the lasting heat relief needed to reduce post-operative bruising. The flexible polyurethane casing conforms gently to the area where the application of cold or hot therapy is needed. The compress's patented non-freezable, non-toxic gel remains flexible even at freezing temperatures. The design of the compress keeps the gel distributed evenly over the treatment area for better cold or hot therapy treatment. Both the non-freezable gel and the material used to make the compress are non-toxic, making the compress safe for all applications. Cold Therapy: For post-surgery purposes, it is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). For continued relief following surgery, maintain cold therapy treatments for 72 hours after surgery or as directed by your doctor. Use compress for 3 minutes or more for refreshing a tired complexion, 10 minutes or more for softening wrinkles, pores, and reducing sunburn pain, 12 minutes or more for diminishing rosacea and redness, and 15 minutes or more for reliving headaches and sinus pressure. For better results, return your compress to the refrigerator or freezer after every use. The Masque can be reapplied after being cooled again. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress. Place your compress flat in refrigerator of freezer for several hours, (initial cooling of the compress takes approximately one hour). Adjust to comfort by placing an 4” x 4” gauze, thin clean cloth or paper towel between compress and the skin if necessary. For moist cold applications, wet the cloth or gauze, squeeze out excess moisture and place on the affected area. It is recommended to apply the compress for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). For better results, return your compress to the refrigerator or freezer after every use. The Cold/Hot pack can be reapplied after being cooled again. For continued relief, carry on cold therapy treatments for 72 hours after surgery or as directed by your doctor. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
Hot Therapy: Different methods can be used to heat the compress, from boiling water and hot tap water. Microwaving the compress is not recommended, as it can damage your compress. Place masque in water and heat for 10 minutes or to a desired temperature.
Once the compress is hot, you may apply it for 15-20 minutes (or as directed by your doctor), and then off the affected area for 40-45 minutes (or as directed by your doctor). Between hot therapy treatments, store the compress at room temperature. The compress will re-warm in 2-3 minutes.
Compress Care: After use, the compress can be cleaned with a mild soap. For better results, return your compress to the refrigerator or freezer after every use. When stored in the refrigerator or freezer, do not place any heavy objects on top of your compress.
