Healthy Tip: Save 5% with the Compress 2-Pack. It is recommended to buy 2 compresses to be able to have a cold one ready at all times while the other is being used.
Product Description & Benefits: A practical alternative to using leaky ice packs, messy frozen peas, or dripping hot gauze pads and towels, the reusable, doctor-recommended Eye Masque Hot & Cold Compress can be used on the eyes for both cold and hot therapy to help in reducing post-operative swelling and bruising, discomfort, headaches, fatigue, and for general relaxation. Beyond its post-surgery applications, with cold therapy the compress can also be used to enhance your daily personal beauty routine by softening wrinkles and pores, refreshing a tired complexion, and alleviating tired or puffy eyes. With hot therapy, the compress can also alleviate sinus pressure due to common colds and allergies. Developed by dermatologist Dr. Tina Alster (Founding Director, Washington Institute of Dermatological Laser Surgery), the Eye Masque Hot & Cold Compress stays hot or cold longer than comparable products (up to 2 hours) and its unique soft outer casing feels good on the skin and enhances patient comfort for extended use. A form-fitting Velcro fastening system ensures that the Masque firmly stays in place around your head. The coolant gel within the compress is distributed evenly throughout this sturdy product, allowing the compress to contour to the shape of your face as you heal. The patented gel formula keeps the masque flexible and not hard at freezing temperatures. This quality item is also lightweight, hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and hygienic. Dr. Alster affirms through clinical studies that continuous use of the Eye Masque Hot & Cold Compress decreases healing time, enabling patients to return to their normal activities more quickly.
The compress may be used for a wide range of cosmetic procedures, including chemical peel, botox, collagen, restylane, and other injections, eyelid surgery, face lift, laser eye surgery (LASIK), nose surgery, and other procedures (see full list below). The immediate application of cold therapy is beneficial for reducing post-operative swelling by constricting the capillary vessels and slowing down the flow of blood and other fluids to the injured or operated area. Patients also benefit from cold therapy’s anesthetic effect on the nerves, which helps reduce the sensation of pain and provides a soothing, refreshing, and relaxing feeling to the injured or operated area. Further, cold therapy reduces the risk of hematoma formation. Because cold therapy helps to restore strength, mobility and range of motion more quickly, patients may reduce their hospital stay, heal faster and feel better sooner. Hot therapy is beneficial in reducing post-operative bruising by helping break down bruising discolorations (i.e. black, blue, purple, green, gray, yellow and other discolorations). Hot therapy can also help increase comfort and relaxation for sore, achy skin and muscle tissues that have been operated on.
This reusable Compress provides up to 2 hours of cold or hot relief. With simple freezer storage between uses, this reusable eye compress can be applied again and again for either cold or relief. For hot therapy, taking the Masque from the freezer and placing it in a large pan of boiling water (see Instructions below) will provide the lasting heat relief needed to reduce post-operative bruising. The flexible polyurethane casing conforms gently to the area where the application of cold or hot therapy is needed. The compress's patented non-freezable, non-toxic gel remains flexible even at freezing temperatures. The design of the compress keeps the gel distributed evenly over the treatment area for better cold or hot therapy treatment. Both the non-freezable gel and the material used to make the compress are non-toxic, making the compress safe for all applications. Beyond using the Eye Masque Hot & Cold Compress during recovery from a cosmetic procedure (see full list below), this product can be highly effective for puffy eyes and dry eyes treatment, alleviation of tired eyes and headaches, relief from clogged sinuses due to colds and allergies, chalazion, chalazia, and first aid for burns and trauma.
